Gotta' figure that there are a lot of jealous GM's out there because only two former teammates (who happen to be members of Boston's last championship team) could've pulled off a blockbuster deal like this. Give credit to Garnett too for never complaining about the lack of talent surrounding him all those years in Minnesota, he's long deserved a real shot at a championship and now he'll get it.

Why Does Lawrence Frank Get An Extension?

Lawrence Frank has had a worse record running the New Jersey Nets than his predecessor Byron Scott. Plus, while Scott led his team to a couple of Eastern Conference championships, the Nets haven’t sniffed the NBA Finals under Frank (who arguably has worked with better talent than Scott). Yet, Scott was fired midway through his third season with the Nets, while today we find out that Frank, about to enter his 4th season, has gotten an extension. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

If he actually took part in betting on dogfighting is one thing, but Vick had to know dogs were daily being killed for money in the house HE bought and at worst, he ignored it. I'm all for letting the criminal justice system play out in this case, but now is not the time to be defending Michael Vick.

Is The NBA On The Fix?

David Stern's league is already suffering from low TV ratings, poor image problems, overpaid players and dumb on-court rules that cost teams championships. But the idea of a ref betting on games and possibly engaging in point-shaving takes the NBA's problems to another level. And If it turns out to be true than Stern needs to resign.

Can Mike Francesca Shut Up About A-Rod Already?

Listening to WFAN everyday like I do, this morning I got to listen to afternoon host Mike Francesca carry on and on about how great Alex Rodriguez is (yunno, just in case you didn't already have a clue). Of course with the Yankees still more than 7 games out of playoff contention, you'd think that Francesca, a huge Yankee fan, would understand that it's about his TEAM winning, not the splendor of one individual (esp. one whose never won anything in his career) player. With that said I guess we can just add the All-Knowing Francesca to the long list of media pundits who've been conned by one man's stats instead of where his team is at the end of the season.
