Mets Take 2 Outta 3 From Padres

I know Johan Santana is going to get all his millions regardless, but he wouldn't be human if he wasn't pissed at just how inept his bullpen is. Yet, another blown save...seems like the bullpen has cost Santana at least 10 wins this year. Anyway, nice to see David Wright make up for his huge error yesterday, we picked up a game on the Phils and Carlos Beltran seems to have remembered how to hit again. All in all, not a bad series and yeah, I'm feeling this Daniel Murphy kid so much so that I'd be really comfortable with him in left-field if Ryan Church never comes back.

Johan Santana Needs A Signature Moment

Fair point brought up by Kim Jones today. In my book Johan has more than done his job keeping his team in just about every game this year while hardly getting any run support. However, he still needs to make an effort that stands out, preferably against one of the main contenders (Phillies & Marlins) in a big game. I'm still expecting Santana to have a huge 2nd half for us.

Johan Santana Has A 3.01 ERA

Seriously if I thought Johan Santana was a bust, I'd have no problem say so. And yes, giving up a grand slam to an American League pitcher is embarrassing. but he's right when he says that he's kept his team in just about every game this year and the facts are that the Mets have provided little scoring production for Johan in most of his starts. Barry Zito is a bust, Johan Santana is not
. His critics need to lay off.

Mets Take Series From Diamondbacks

Two-out-of three in Arizona (where they've dominated of late) is dope esp, the Big 3 the D'backs had going at them, looks like Carlos Delgado maybe coming around too. But that's a big maybe. Too bad for Johan the Mets aren't scoring enough runs for him while he's pitching so he can get some wins.

Johan Santana and the Mets are 1-0

The
track record says that Johan Santana is going to give up a lot of homeruns, but I'll take a dinger here and there as long as we're way ahead. Either way, 7 innings, 2 runs, 3 hits and 8 strikeouts is worth the price of admission.

It's Official, Johan Santana Is A Met

Finally something to cheer about from my home team. My thanks to the Wilpon's, now Johan has to do his part. And there'll be a lot of pressure on him to do so in New York so he better be prepared.

Johan Santana Better Be A Met Come April

Finally!!! I don't care how much money Fred Wilpon has to pull out of his pocket, he just better get this deal done. After what Mets fans like me endured last season, we all deserve to see Johan Santana on Opening Day.

Johan Santana To Red Sox?

Damn, if this happens it won't just be the Yankees who'll be in trouble, but the whole league could be bowing down to Red Sox Nation for years to come.

Carlos Zambrano Robs The Cubs

Listen, I'm all for Cubs management trying extra hard to change almost a century without a World Series championship, but Carlos Zambrano getting a 5-year, $91.5 million contract extension today is insane for a pitcher. Zambrano is a top-notch pitcher, but the guy's never won a Cy Young or even 20 games in a season. Now that this deal is official, you just know that Johan Santana is the happiest man the planet right now.
