Mets Take Two Out Of Three From Rockies

I'm past the Willie stuff, it's played out already and it's time to move on. The goal is to continue winning series' and that's what the Mets are doing what with 3 series wins in a row highly benefited by the Phillies coming back down to earth. And yes the Mariners are bad, but I'm not even asking for a sweep, just another series win and the rest will take care of itself.

For Rockies To Have A Chance, Todd Helton Needs To Step Up

Like most people outside of Denver I don't know much about the Colorado Rockies, but as a Mets fan I'm well aware of Todd Helton long being one of the best hitters in all of baseball. This is why I'm surprised that Helton has been having such an awful postseason despite his team's play of late. And now that the Rockies have been held to a total of two runs in the World Series, the Rockies hitters (and especially Helton) are going to have to step it up bigtime in order for the Rockies to have a chance to win the series.

Colorado Rockies vs. Boston Red Sox For World Title

The Colorado Rockies will face the Boston Red Sox in the World series, beginning Wednesday in Boston.

The Red Sox "earned the right" to compete against them with their win against Cleveland Sunday night.

The Rockies have nothing to be afraid of, since they have a record of beating the Red Sox:

The Rockies have recent success on their side. During Interleague Play, the Rockies won two of three games at Fenway on June 12-14, as they outscored the Red Sox, 20-5, in the series. Additionally, the Rockies were one of just two teams to beat the Red Sox's top two pitchers, Josh Beckett and Curt Schilling. They lost the opener, 2-1, as Tim Wakefield outdueled Aaron Cook.

I'm going with the Sox in 6 as they have home field advantage, better pitching and the long layoff between series' will hurt the Rockies momentum just like it did the Tigers in 2006. How funny would it be if after waiting 86 years for their 2004 title, the Sox won another one in three? Manny Ramirex will again be Series MVP.

Who Are The Colorado Rockies?

I swear, other than Todd Helton and ex-Met Kaz Matsui, I never heard of anyone on this team until the playoffs. Now they're bullying their way through the postseason and I'm almost glad the Mets didn't make it because Colorado would've killed them. I do recall that the Rockies swept both the Mets and the Yankees during the regular season so they've been pretty good, but who knew they were this good?

It's Just Not Fair

I like the run that the Colorado Rockies are on and they'll definitely add some much-needed juice to the World Series if they make it there. But as a longtime Mets fan, the idea of ex-Met bust Kaz Matsui playing on the top stage in baseball in the same season that my Mets suffered the greatest collapse ever, just fills me with hurt, anger and great envy.

Rockies Beat Phils In Game 1

There's two things that'll help me get over the hurt from the Mets historic collapse: another Yankees first-round exit (Go Indians!) and the Rockies taking out Jimmy Rollins' Phillies. So far the Rockies are keeping their end of the deal.
