Will Tyler Hansbrough Stay At North Carolina?

Memphis vs. Kansas!?! Unbelievable. But I like John Calipari so I'm going for Tigers. As for Hansbrough, as badly as he wanted to win an NCAA championship, my gut feeling says that he leaves NC for the NBA. Of course, if Roy Williams had his team ready to play, much less called a couple of earlier time-outs before they got down by 26 in the first half, I'd be talking about a different outcome.

Rick Pitino Pays Tyler Hansbrough The Highest Compliment

Said the Hall of Fame coach after his Louisville team lost to the Tar Heels in the East Regional final tonight:

"I've coached against Michael (Jordan) in his prime, (Charles) Barkley in his prime, Kareem when he left," Pitino said after Hansbrough scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in North Carolina's 83-73 victory in the East Regional final Saturday night. "Magic, all the great ones. Certainly he doesn't have those abilities of those superstars. But just like shooting, rebounding and playing defense, passing, working hard is an acquired skill.

"Every NBA coach would love to have a player, not only because he works hard but he has a lot of talent. There's an old saying about offensive rebounding, that you should treat every shot as a pass to you. It's a very good saying, except most players can't do that. He does that."

Davidson Is The Story

I still don't know where Davidson is, but led by Stephen Curry this team has a legitimate shot to make it to the Elite Eight and that is definitely the story of this years March Madness. And while this may be a stretch, but I'm still picking the Heels to win the whole thing.

UConn Huskies Are Out!

I have all the respect in the world for Jim Calhoun as a basketball coach, but I'm a St. Johns fan whose team has been consistently beat up (amongst many others) by Calhoun's Huskies over the the years. In other words the Huskies to me are like the Braves to the Mets....I just can't ever root for them, so its especially satisfying to see them lose in the first round (first time ever for a Calhoun team) today.
