The Spurs should've won Game 1 and got a bad call in Game 4, but still the Lakers proved to be the better team. Manu Ginobili played horrible throughout and Tim Duncan can't do it all by himself. Another failed chance to repeat for San Antonio and now I'm left with hoping that the Celtics or Pistons (more likely Boston) can stop that arrogant prick in L.A. from getting another championship ring.
That's my opinion on the NBA Eastern and Western Finals this year. I'm still hoping for Spurs-Pistons in the Finals with Detroit willing in 6 while getting revenge for losing to the Spurs in 2005. This will also confirm my feelings that Kobe can't win without Shaq and that the Celtics just aren't ready yet.
And that's the way it should be. Byron Scott and the Hornets had a great season and gave the Spurs all they got, but need to pay more dues before they can call themselves champs. Now it's Lakers vs. Spurs. I say Spurs in 6.
Now this is funny. A New Orleans Hornets fan held up a huge cardboard cutout of Eva LongoriaTony Parker's two free throws last night. He missed both throws and security immediately took away the cutout.
By the way, thanks in part to the man who should've been named MVP, Chris Paul, the Spurs lost the game.
Granted, 4 trophies in 9 years serves as an excellent model of consistency and it more than proves that Tim Duncan is the best player in the NBA, but to me a dynasty is at the very least, 3 championships in a row. And no disrespect to the Spurs, but I can still can't get over Robert Horry and David Stern literally booting the Spurs into this years Finals in the first place.
