A-Rod Knows That He's Not A True Yankee

I think that's why he left last night's stellar All-Star game early last night. He's a mercenary who only cares about himself. True Yankees aren't phony, are winners and show grit in pressure situations. Jeter and Mariano have done it their entire careers. They will go down as great Yankees and deserve all the acclaim they get. Alex Rodriguez is a great player who just happens to be wearing a Yankee uniform.

Alex Rodriguez Is An Idiot.....

.....and at $30mil a year he makes more than the entire 1st place Tampa Bay Rays team that comes into Yankee Stadium today. But getting back to A-Rod, Mr. Phony....I'm really hoping that Cynthia Rodriguez gets half. If the accusations of infidelity are true (and apparently they are if you believe the stripper he was spotted cavorting around Toronto with last year) and considering that he just had his second kid, this whole mess proves just proves once again what a loser A-Rod really is.

Alex Rodriguez and Madonna???

Isn't it just amazing that A-Rod always ends up in these silly, off-the-field scandals? How come this doesn't happen to Derek Jeter, whose single and been in NYC much longer than A-Rod has? Could it be that Jeter is just smarter than A-Rod? Yeah, that's probably it. Again, I don't care how many home-runs Alex Rodriguez ends up with, until he wins a world championship in a Yankee uniform, the deal that brought here is a bust in my opinion.

Don't Mess With Shelley Duncan

To me the Yankees-Rays spring training brawl today was yet another example of the consequences of the A-Rod era on this franchise. I mean, so now we have a Yankees-Rays feud brewing? Puh-leeze. Not too long ago this franchise's focus was on winning championships, now just making the playoffs and A-Rod winning a regular season MVP quantifies as a "good season". It's just not the same.

Yankees Can Keep Alex Rodriguez

Hey, maybe he is sincere about wanting to be a Yankee, but then again as image-conscious as A-Rod is, I wouldn't be surprised that his reaching out to the Yankees is more about the deserved beating he's taken in the press of late. After all, announcing you're "opting out" during the World series was stupid and so was treating the Yankees like they need you when you've been nothing but a playoff bust while wearing the famous pinstripes. Despite all of that if the Yankees want to keep Mr. April for $300 million, that's fine by me because I certainly never wanted him on my team.

For once I agree with Mike Lupica: if Alex Rodriguez doesn't what to be a Yankee anymore the team should just him go. And if he does decide to opt out his contract, he'll prove once and for all that he's a big phony, he's not a winner and it's all about making sure he's always the highest paid player in baseball.

The Pressure Is On Alex Rodriguez

I don't care what anybody says, because until he performs well in the postseason and leads his team to a World Series victory you can't call Alex Rodriguez "great".

Can Mike Francesca Shut Up About A-Rod Already?

Listening to WFAN everyday like I do, this morning I got to listen to afternoon host Mike Francesca carry on and on about how great Alex Rodriguez is (yunno, just in case you didn't already have a clue). Of course with the Yankees still more than 7 games out of playoff contention, you'd think that Francesca, a huge Yankee fan, would understand that it's about his TEAM winning, not the splendor of one individual (esp. one whose never won anything in his career) player. With that said I guess we can just add the All-Knowing Francesca to the long list of media pundits who've been conned by one man's stats instead of where his team is at the end of the season.
Or perhaps Francesca has never heard of Derek Jeter.

Cynthia Rodriguez Is As Dumb As Her Husband

We all know how much Alex Rodriguez loves to do stupid things to call attention to himself, but I had no idea how bad A-Rod's stupidity was rubbing off on his wife till now.

Alex Rodriguez Is Not A Winner

Normally, I don't agree with anything the self-righteous Mike Lupica has to say, but I have to admit that he hits it on the nail here regarding Alex Rodriguez.

Mr. April Strikes Again, But What About The Yankees?

With his torrid start to the season, the sports media is doing a great job reminding us of what a great player this Alex Rodriguez guy is. But we sort of already knew that Arod is pretty good. So maybe someone needs to remind the media nuts that the 3rd place Yankees suck right now, Mariano Rivera has been looking kinda human of late and the Yanks are in danger of being swept in Beantown this weekend. Nevermind the fact that as the Mariners, Rangers and George Steinbrenners Yanks have known for three years now, having Arod (no matter how terrific his numbers are) on your team doesn't equate to winning world championships. And last time I checked isn't winning what it's supposed to be all about?
