Manny Ramirez Hits 500th HomeRun
Am I the only one who feels that Manny Ramirez is under appreciated by the press, who constantly knock him for his "Manny Being Manny" episodes then recognize his greatness? To think Manny's never won an MVP (while A-Rod has 3), yet he's been a Yankee killer all his life, done great in the playoffs and has helped his team win two world championships (lest not forget that he also helped Cleveland go to the WS twice during the 90's). I hope he stays a Red Sox after the season.

Serena Williams Loses Early At French Open
Funny, didn't Serena dump her too-good-to-be-true boyfriend (actor Jackie Long) so she could fully concentrate on tennis? Well, the single life doesn't seem to be doing any good for her game. Blame it on the dude when you really need to be looking in the mirror.

Kobe's Going To The Finals
The Spurs should've won Game 1 and got a bad call in Game 4, but still the Lakers proved to be the better team. Manu Ginobili played horrible throughout and Tim Duncan can't do it all by himself. Another failed chance to repeat for San Antonio and now I'm left with hoping that the Celtics or Pistons (more likely Boston) can stop that arrogant prick in L.A. from getting another championship ring.

Both Series' Will Go Seven Games
That's my opinion on the NBA Eastern and Western Finals this year. I'm still hoping for Spurs-Pistons in the Finals with Detroit willing in 6 while getting revenge for losing to the Spurs in 2005. This will also confirm my feelings that Kobe can't win without Shaq and that the Celtics just aren't ready yet.

Mets Need To Give Willie The Year
I say Omar Minaya needs to give Willie Randolph the year to turn this team around or fire him--bottom line, if the Mets don't make the playoffs than Willie obviously deserves to go. In the meantime the Mets desperately need to make a trade. My suggestion? Package Aaron Heilman (whose been horrible this year and wants to be a starter anyway) and a prospect for either Raul Ibanez (if he's available) or a good right-hand batter with a little pop. This team is too old, listless and topsy-turvy...going on for a year now, but it's far from being too late. However, Omar Minaya needs to make some changes to help his manager out.

Mike Piazza Retires
The greatest hitting catcher of all-time called it quits today, hopefully he'll go in the Hall of Fame with a Mets cap on. Thanks for leading us to the World Series in '00 all the other fantastic memories Mike!

Kobe and Co. Will Have To Go Thru The World Champs
And that's the way it should be. Byron Scott and the Hornets had a great season and gave the Spurs all they got, but need to pay more dues before they can call themselves champs. Now it's Lakers vs. Spurs. I say Spurs in 6.

Mets Sweep Yankees
Very good series, all came together, Billy Wagner was great on Saturday and that stupid blown call by the umps on Delgado's home-run didn't cost the Mets the game yesterday. However, we got the Braves and the Rockies coming up so we'll have to wait and see if this is the start of something great.

Tony Parker Gets Distracted At The Foul Line
Now this is funny. A New Orleans Hornets fan held up a huge cardboard cutout of Eva LongoriaTony Parker's two free throws last night. He missed both throws and security immediately took away the cutout.
By the way, thanks in part to the man who should've been named MVP, Chris Paul, the Spurs lost the game.

Celtics Need To Prove They Can Compete On The Road
This is why Doc Rivers is not a good coach: his team isn't even showing up on the road. And having to go seven games against the Atlanta Hawks was just inept. I mean, I don't expect the Celts to win in Cleveland, but can they at least compete?

Knicks Make A Horrible Choice In Mike D'Antoni
Despite having 3 Hall-of-Famers on his squad, he couldn't get his team out the first round of the playoffs this year, his teams don't play defense and with the Knicks not being able to get under the salary cap for years now, there was no need to spend all that loot on Mike D'Antoni. Bad move by Donnie Walsh. Really bad.

David Dellucci Makes A Great Point On The Joba Dance
Joba strikes out Dellucci up 6-3 in the 8th inning last night and does a little pirouette around the mound afterwards. Dellucci, who hit a pinch-hit, game-winning 3-run homer off Joba the other day, was clearly annoyed by Joba's dance and made this point about it:
“If he wants to yell and scream after a strikeout and dance around the mound, that’s what gets him going,” he said. “My home run was in a much bigger situation, a much more key part of the game, but I didn’t dance around and scream.”Point taken.

Tim Duncan Needs To Step It Up Tonight
Listen, I love Chris Paul and the Hornets, but I'm still rooting for Spurs vs. Celtics in the NBA Finals. Why? Because I hate Kobe and I think that the Spurs have a much better chance of beating the Lakers than the Hornets do. So yeah, the Spurs need to get their shit together and win tonight, then take the next 3 outta 4. If anything, their much-deserved reputation for never being able to win back-to-back titles should motivate them.

Kobe Bryant Does Not Deserve The MVP
The trade for Paul Gasol had more to do with the Lakers winning their division than Kobe Bryant did in my opinion. Thus, the MVP award should be going to Chris Paul, not Kobe Bryant.

Exploiting The Kentucky Derby Tragedy
I saw the Kentucky Derby live on TV this past Saturday: great race, tragic ending. Still somewhat shocked to see a horse have to go down so soon after finishing a race. But what's really shameful is all the negative press now coming out of Churchill Downs, from blaming the jockey to ripping the TV coverage to liberal, special-interest groups like PETA exploiting the race while demanding reforms to the horse racing industry. But would PETA be making so much noise if the Eight Belles wasn't a filly? And this wasn't the Kentucky Derby, the most popular race in horse racing? I highly doubt it. Yet another reason why PETA (which has no problem using porno stars like Jenna Jameson in their ads) should be minding their own damn business here because they know nothing about the horse racing industry.

Mets Take Series From Diamondbacks
Two-out-of three in Arizona (where they've dominated of late) is dope esp, the Big 3 the D'backs had going at them, looks like Carlos Delgado maybe coming around too. But that's a big maybe. Too bad for Johan the Mets aren't scoring enough runs for him while he's pitching so he can get some wins.
