Can St. Johns Please Explain This?
Norm Roberts has done absolutely nothing in coaching the St. John's men's basketball team for 4 years now, yet the higher-ups there sign the coach to an extension?!? That makes absolutely no freaking sense.

Roger Clemens Sure Is Defiant
Showing up at Astros camp in the middle of a possible probe by federal investigators while most people think you're lying and not taking any questions from the press? That's sheer and utter defiance.

Yao Ming Out, Rockets Will Wait Till Year
Houston was on a good run and they haven't missed Jeff Van Gundy at all this season, but in such a crowded West, they weren't going to the NBA Finals anyway. Why? Because Yao & McGrady will never be as good as Kobe & Shaq.

Barry Bonds To Tampa Bay?
Certainly an interesting rumor and it definitely couldn't hurt Tampa Bay's chances of winning the AL East. But seriously, the bigger question would be whether or not Bonds would want to play for a team he has no chance of winning a championship with.

Isiah, Please Take The Hoosiers Job!!!
Please Isiah, please. Pretty please. Now that Kelvin Sampson is officially out, could you please resign from the Knicks and offer to take the Hoosiers job. It is your alma mater and you're still beloved there. Plus, you did say that it would be the only position you'd consider taking other than the Knicks. Now be a man and live up to your word and go. Please. Pretty please?

The Key Will Be Wally Szczerbiak, Not Ben Wallace
I like this deal, but the idea that Ben Wallace is the key here just doesn't hold water. I liek Ben, but he's always been on overrated player who does nothing on offense (I mean even Rodman could hit a free throw when needed while Ben can't). Szczerbiak will get a lot of open looks playing with Lebron and he'll knock them down because he's that good a shooter. Don't sleep on Delonte West being a factor here either for Cleveland.

Is The NFL Catching Up To Belichick
I tell ya, despite his denials, if anything illegal comes out of this investigation Roger Goodell's doing on the New England Patriots and the '02 Super Bowl, Bill Belichick should have to resign and never be allowed to coach in the NFL again.

Jason Kidd Deal Finally Done
Kidd makes Dallas better, but I'm still of the belief that with Shaq on their side, this will be the year of the Suns.

Eric Gange Will Be Bust
Call me a skeptic, but I'm one of those who doesn't believe that Eric Gagne will ever return to the form that won him the Cy Young. And for cheating like he did, he doesn't deserve to ever be mentioned in the same sentence as the great Mariano Rivera no matter what he does from here on.

Devean George May Have The Greatest Agent Ever
Gotta' admit that for an agent of a bench player to hold this much weight against a blockbuster trade is pretty impressive. By the way wasn't it Jason Kidd who wanted Byron Scott out as coach for Lawrence Frank not too long back? Almost get the feeling that there's a whole lot of karma working its way around this deal.

What Does Myles Brand Have To Say Now?
Say what you want about Bob Knight, but the NCAA never had to investigate his school while he was there. But now that Indiana's basketball program is involved in a huge scandal with a different coach, what will Holier-Than-Thou Myles Brand do about this?

Shaq Trade Should Put Phoenix In The Finals
Great trade by the Suns. They got rid of one of the most overrated "stars" in the NBA and as long as they don't overuse this old version of Shaq, he can help them finally get in the Finals.

Bob Knight retries
He'll certainly be missed, but it makes sense to retire now because he was never going to win a championship at Texas Tech. And nevermind all the media's longstanding hostility towards him because he was a great coach, his programs were never investigated by the NCAA and his players graduated. All of that counts a lot more than a few silly incidents where he lost his temper. Just ask his players.

Super Bowl Prediction: Patriots Will Go 19-0
I'm a Jets fan so I can't get into this year Super Bowl as I literally hate both the Pats and the Giants. But frankly I'm more upset at the Giants for being in this game, ruining what would've been a great game and story if Bret Favre were here. With that said, I'm picking the Pats to win 34-23 only Super Bowl's rarely produce blowouts and the best player on the field is Tom Brady.

It's Official, Johan Santana Is A Met
Finally something to cheer about from my home team. My thanks to the Wilpon's, now Johan has to do his part. And there'll be a lot of pressure on him to do so in New York so he better be prepared.
